We have enjoyed Shahid Afridi’s cricketing skills for years now. Now, he will entertain us with his culinary skills.
Afridi announced on Tuesday that he will open a restaurant in Dubai that will serve authentic Pakistani fare. He shared a video on Instagram showing him in an apron, slicing and tossing tomatoes.
A step closer to the grand announcement said the dashing cricketer, who currently represents the Quetta Gladiators.
Afridi wrote in the post along with the hashtags of his restaurant’s name, Lala Darbar, “Get ready to give your taste buds a mouthwatering triple tarka.”.
If you are not familiar with Pashtun, Afridi is known as Lala, which means eldest brother.
The location and menu details of the restaurant have yet to be revealed.
Shahid Afridi is also the owner of the clothing brand Hope Not Out, which provides leisurewear for men and women as well as a skincare line called Ooh Lala. Inzamam Ul Haq, Saeed Anwar, and Shoaib Malik, all former teammates of Afridi, also operate successful food businesses in Dubai.
Haq and Anwar own a meat store called Meat One while Malik and his wife, tennis star Sania Mirza, run the Sthan restaurant.
