There’s a lot of buzz about Tamil superstar Vijay. ‘Thalapathy’, as he’s known by his fans, opened up an official Instagram account and created quite a stir.
Vijay posted a pic of himself looking slick in a white tee and a black jacket. It’s “Hello Nanbas and Nanbis [Hello, boys and girls]” in the actor’s first message to his Instagram followers. Over a million people liked and commented on the post within minutes.
Also welcoming him to the platform were his showbiz friends. Several South Indian film stars expressed excitement over Vijay’s social media debut, including Varsha Bollamma, Chaitra Latha, Ramya Pandian, Reba Monica John, Sam Vishal, Nandhini Myna and Shwetha Menon.

The next movie Vijay is in is Leo, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. On October 19, the film will be released in theaters. Currently, in production, Leo is part of Lokesh Cinematic Universe, which also includes Kaithi and Vikram.
This year, he will turn 49. He’s married to Sangeeta Sornalingam. They have two kids.
