Shakira will star in and executive produce her own NBC dance competition show following the viral success of the ‘Girl Like Me’ challenge.
The Black Eyed Peas and Shakira’s track “Girl Like Me” gained worldwide recognition after Shakira created a TikTok dance challenge at the end of 2020, which encouraged fans to follow along with the iconic workout outfit that Jane Fonda wore on the music video. The singer is now taking things one step further with a new dance competition series called Dancing With Myself that invites the world’s best dancers to participate.
The show features a new group of dancers every week who compete in new challenges set by various celebrities appearing on the show, including Shakira herself. In isolated pods, each contestant must quickly learn the new routine and add their own individual flair to it before performing it in front of an audience live. The dancers will receive feedback from Shakira and the other judges as they perform, but the studio audience will be the ultimate judge and decide who wins money as the Best Dancer of the Night.
