Robert Pattinson debuts as Batman in the latest Batman movie trailer as he faces off against Catwoman, The Riddler, and Penguin.
An all-new trailer for The Batman was debut during Saturday’s DC FanDome. The footage shows Robert Pattinson’s darker, grittier Batman instilling fear in some of his biggest archenemies.
Along with Pattinson, Zoë Kravitz is playing Catwoman, Paul Dano will portray The Riddler, Andy Serkis will portray Alfred Pennyworth, Jeffrey Wright will portray Jim Gordon, and Colin Farrell will portray the Penguin.
“Fear is a tool and when the light hits the sky, it’s not just a call. It’s a warning,” Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne says. “Maybe we’re not so different,” says Zoë Kravitz’s Selena Kyle to Batman. “Who are you under there?”?
“I’m vengeance,” Batman replies.
The already gloomy Gotham City of Pattinson’s Batman is filled with rain and gloom just a year into his reign as a costumed vigilante. His enemies are attacked with a visceral brutality not seen in past live-action Batman movies. In The Batman, Wayne faces the challenges of fighting crime in Gotham after a string of murders reveal that the city is more corrupt than anybody could have imagined. Commissioner Gordon is played by Jeffrey Wright, Carmine Falcone by John Turturro, and Alfred Pennyworth by Andy Serkis.
