Arnold Schwarzenegger plays Zeus in a poster for a new mystery film to be released in February. While Schwarzenegger has taken on many mythic roles through the years, he is perhaps best remembered for portraying Conan the Barbarian in the classic 1982 film.
The actor just tweeted a new poster depicting him in a Zeus role, while promising another project for February. This seems to be his first foray into the mythic realm in a very literal sense.
There is no project listed among Schwarzenegger’s upcoming ones where he plays Zeus. The only movie he has pending for 2022 is Kung Fury 2, where he plays President. Aside from Twins, he will reprise his Twins role in Triplets alongside Danny DeVito and appear on the TV series Utap and Outrider.
The best clue regarding what Schwarzenegger’s Zeus poster is alluding to is the “February” part, which indicates the arrival of the Super Bowl, the biggest of all TV spectacles. As the Super Bowl approaches, we can expect tons of Super Bowl ads, and it’s reasonable to assume Schwarzenegger’s poster is a preview of something he’s working on with a brand to air during the game.
Schwarzenegger’s Zeus poster seems to have some similarities to a character poster from a real movie, which could indicate he’s not alone in whatever project this will be, and more poster images could appear in coming days and weeks featuring other big stars.
