According to Gallup’s Global Law and Order Report 2021, the UAE is officially the safest country to walk alone at night in the world.
The UAE came in first out of a possible 100 countries in a Gallup survey about feeling safe walking alone at night, scoring 95 percent out of 100. Norway came in second with 93 percent.
In a tweet, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, expressed his happiness about the result: “Security is a blessing.. and safety is tranquility, tranquility and life.. If a woman wanders alone at any hour of the day or night without fear, know that she is in the Emirates..”
Norway came out as the country with the highest law and order in the study, coming in at first place with 94 points. The UAE came in at second place with 93 points. Survey responses were collected over the past 18 months during the global pandemic.
Among the top five countries where people feel safe walking alone at night are The UAE (94%), Norway (93%), China (91%), Slovenia (91%), and Taiwan (90%).
