We are only a few months into 2023, but Abu Dhabi already has so much to look forward to in terms of global sporting events. The ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon is always a popular event with the crowds.
The ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon will take place this year on Saturday, December 16, and will offer the opportunity for the world’s best distance runners to compete on one of the fastest 42.2 kilometers in the marathon circuit.
Not quite ready for the full challenge? There is also the option of participating in the relay, 10k, 5k and 2.5k races. You may register now and the full Marathon participation fee, which includes a 30 percent early bird discount, is Dhs245 (plus taxes).
It was a looping stretch of track that allowed competitors to pass through some of the city’s most famous landmarks, including the Corniche, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Zayed Sports City, Qasr Al Hosn, the World Trade Centre building and snatches of mangrove forest along the coastline.
Prize money for the 2022 competitions was USD50,000 for the men’s category and USD25,000 for the women’s category, with additional bonuses available for record-breaking performances.
