“Al Mudina Water Tank Project”: An Esteemed Initiative of Sharjah’s Monarch

sheikh dr. sultan bin mohammed al qasimi approves al mudina water tank project

Under the gracious patronage of His Royal Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Sovereign of Sharjah, the groundbreaking “Al Mudina Water Tank Project” in the heart of the Emirate has received the royal nod. An investment of a splendid 261 million dirhams is earmarked for this ambitious venture.

Upon royal directives, the blueprint and construction phases for this water reservoir, boasting a capacity of 6 million cubic metres, equivalent to a staggering 1.3 billion gallons, have been initiated. This distinguished project stands as a testament to Sharjah’s commitment to securing water resources, which is paramount for the Emirate’s burgeoning agricultural and livestock domains.

The prosperous land of Mleiha, which saw the cultivation of wheat span across 400 hectares in 2023, is earmarked for further expansion. By His Highness’s strategic vision, Sharjah aspires to augment this land by an additional 1,500 hectares, aiming for a grand total of 1,900 hectares by the end of 2024.

Serving the realm of livestock, this noble endeavour will support the cattle initiative, commencing with a herd of 1,000 cows of the most exquisite lineage. In a display of Sharjah’s commitment to royal standards of excellence, the cattle count is set to magnify to 2,000 cows in the ensuing year. Moreover, the project will be a beacon for poultry, sheep, and goats ventures, ensuring that only the finest and selectively bred species grace the lands of Sharjah.
