During the upcoming National Day break in Abu Dhabi emirate, motorists will have free parking and toll-free roads.
According to the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of the Department of Municipalities and Transport, the charge-free period for Mawaqif parking fees and Darb road tolls will begin tomorrow, December 1. Monday, December 5, will be the day when the charges will be reinstated.
In the meantime, the ITC has urged residents to be considerate of other road users during the free parking period, and to follow residential parking regulations between 9 pm and 8 am every day. It is also important that motorists avoid parking in non-designated spaces and in a manner that impedes traffic flow.
The parking in Abu Dhabi will be charged again at 8am on December 5, while the Darb tolls will be collected between 7am – 9am and 5pm – 7pm on December 5.
In the meantime, public bus services in the emirate will operate on a weekend and public holiday basis.
