Fuel prices for March 2023 were announced by the UAE fuel price committee on March 31. A price decrease of up to 8 fils per liter was approved by the fuel price committee.
As of April 1, Super 98 petrol will be priced at Dh 3.01 per litre, as compared to Dh 3.09 per litre in March, a decrease of 7 fils per litre after they increase prices by 4 fils per litre in March
The price of Special 95 petrol will be 2.90 per litre, a 7 fils decrease from 2.97 in March.
A liter of E-Plus 91 petrol will cost 2.82 Dh as opposed to Dh 2.90 a litre last month, a decrease of 8 fils, and a litre of diesel will cost 3.03 Dh as opposed to Dh 3.14 in the month of March.
A drop in energy prices caused by fears of a worldwide recession led to a reduction in retail fuel prices in the UAE in August 2022, September 2022 & October 2022. The price was slightly increased in November 2022, however, it was reduced slightly in December 2022 and January 2023 and increased in February 2023 & March.
Having deregulated retail fuel prices in August 2015, the committee has conducted monthly updates on fuel prices. Rates are announced every month on the last day of the month by the committee.
By maintaining petrol prices with international rates, the government reduces the amount of subsidies it has to pay, as well as offering support to fuel retailers.
As a result of low tax rates, the UAE’s petrol prices are much cheaper than those in the US, Asia, and Europe. Customers in the UAE only have to pay 5% value-added tax (VAT).
