UAE fuel prices were lowered by up to 62 fils per liter for August in accordance with global crude oil prices.

It has been announced by the UAE’s oil price committee that Super 98 has been reduced by 13% from Dh4.63 per liter in July to Dh4.03 in August; Special 95 has been reduced by 13.27 percent to Dh3.92 compared with Dh4.52 in July; while E-Plus 91 has been reduced by 13.5% to Dh3.84 from Dh4.44.

Additionally, the price of diesel has been reduced by 13 percent to Dh4.14 per liter for August compared to Dh4.76 for the month of July.

Oil prices in the UAE reached an all-time high in July after two consecutive months of price increases since the government announced deregulation in 2015.

As a whole, oil prices have remained above $100 per barrel this year, particularly following the Russian-Ukrainian military crisis in February. In July, however, prices fell below $100 due to fears of a recession. There was a decline of more than 10% in oil prices on July 5. The US economy shrank by 0.9% between April and June, raising fears that the world’s largest economy is entering a recession.
