Prior to the Fifa World Cup in Qatar, which is set to begin in November, airfares between the UAE and Qatar have jumped nearly 1,200 percent.
As a result of the strong demand for passenger traffic between the two countries, many foreigners will make their way to the UAE, especially Dubai, for tourism during the World Cup.
1.2 million foreign visitors are expected to visit Qatar during its hosting of the Fifa World Cup, which takes place from November 21 through December 18.
Current airfares between the UAE’s various cities and Doha, the Qatari capital, range from Dh340 to Dh800. In addition, First Class fares have increased, with one-way airfare between UAE and Qatar soaring from Dh3,470 in February to Dh10,190 in November 2022.
Flydubai, Air Arabia and Etihad Airways are some of the local carriers that operate in the Gulf region.
