In a new partnership, Brazilian soccer star Neymar Jr., who is one of the most popular athletes in the world, will stream gaming content exclusively on Facebook Gaming. This is a huge coup for Facebook Gaming, which is in an ongoing battle with Twitch and YouTube to become a destination for top gaming personalities.
According to Facebook, Neymar Jr. will stream his gameplay more than once a month and once a month with another creator. On Friday, Dec. 17, at 11 a.m. PT, Neymar Jr. will broadcast his first livestream on his Facebook page.
“I’m very happy to partner with Facebook Gaming on my livestreams!” Neymar Jr. released a statement through Facebook. “The gaming world has always been one of my greatest passions after football, and I can barely wait to hang out and have fun with everyone who also shares this passion.”
Neymar Jr. has nearly 88 million Facebook fans and more than 166 million Instagram followers, both of which are owned by Meta.
Neymar Junior, who is currently playing for the Paris Saint-Germain football club, is a keen gamer who was featured in Epic Games’ “Fortnite “earlier this year. Previously, he was a Twitch livestreamer and played games like “Counter-Strike: Global Offensive” (CS:GO) and “Call of Duty.”
