On Monday, Ferrari announced it had signed a multi-year agreement with Swiss technology company Velas Network to create digital content for its fans.
Next season, Velas, a service and product provider to the digital industry, will partner with Ferrari.
“In addition, Velas will be Title Sponsor of the Ferrari Esports Series, the online mono-brand series of the Prancing Horse, and of the Esports team that will compete in the F1 Esports Series, the official digital championship competed in by all teams participating in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship,” Ferrari said in a statement.
Vellas provides blockchain technology as well as non-fungible tokens (NFTs). These cryptographic assets are stored on a blockchain and have an identification code that makes them unique and have become popular in the digital art market. Velas is a global player in the blockchain and NFT sector, led by a team of engineers, cryptographers, researchers, and mathematicians that have distinguished itself through its performance and innovation of its services. These are the characteristics that link it with the legendary Maranello-based racing team.
A multi-year agreement will allow the Scuderia to provide fans with exclusive digital content. Additionally, Velas will be a title sponsor of the Ferrari Esports Series, an online mono-brand series from the Prancing Horse, as well as the F1 Esports Series, an official digital competition for all teams competing in the Formula One world championship.
Scuderia Ferrari is preparing to launch its 2022 season challenger sometime in mid-February, which makes it the first team to reveal the date of its upcoming launch.
