It has long been rumored that OPPO is developing a foldable phone, and today the Chinese smartphone maker has confirmed this. OPPO Find N is the company’s first foldable smartphone, and in advance of its official unveiling, the company has released some details about the device.
Pete Lau, OPPO chief executive, posted a blog entry earlier today saying the company has been developing its first foldable smartphone for four years and will show it next week. It has officially been announced that the company will launch its first foldable commercial device on the second day of its INNO DAY 2021 event, which is December 15th. Pete Lau reported that OPPO built six prototypes of the smartphone during its development.
Huawei, Xiaomi, and Samsung have already introduced their foldable offerings to the market, so OPPO is undoubtedly a bit late to the foldable party. Nevertheless, we’re eager to see how OPPO will differentiate itself from competitors with a foldable smartphone, we look forward to seeing what the company’s vision for the device will be.
As seen in the teaser, the OPPO Find N appears to come with three rear cameras. The tagline “Designed For Find” is also visible. OPPO did not share any technical details of the phone.
There are also claims that the Find N addresses major pain points such as display creases and overall durability that can be found with many foldable phones today including the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3. Watch the video below for a demonstration:
