Panasonic’s Wearable Gaming Speaker SoundSlayer GN01 now has a Final Fantasy XIV edition.
This speaker was first revealed during Gamescom in 2021, and sits around your neck like a travel pillow to give you a better surround sound impression than wearing headphones. The system includes four speakers with full-range sound around the band, plus a noise and echo-cancelling microphone for in-game communication.
Fans of the hugely popular MMORPG series will appreciate the special decals on the new edition created in partnership with the Final Fantasy Online team.
Connecting the speaker to a gaming source is pretty simple. You can either plug it into a USB port or into a 3.5mm jack (such as a DualSense controller or an Xbox Wireless Controller, for example). It offers three specific audio modes designed exclusively for Final Fantasy’s developer/publisher Square Enix — role-playing games, first-person shooters, and voice for enhanced dialogue in games with a significant amount of talking.
In addition, there is a cinema mode if you just want to sit back, relax, and enjoy a movie.
Upon its arrival in Europe in February 2022, the Panasonic SC-GN01 Final Fantasy edition wearable gaming speaker will be priced at £199.99.
