HT Aero, an affiliate company of Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Xpeng Inc. HTAero, unveiled their 6th generation flying car vehicle at Xpeng Tech Day on Sunday, October 24, 2021.
According to HT Aero, the car will be available in 2024, but it is not currently commercially available. The final design may also change.
According to the company, HT Aero’s vehicle has a lightweight design and a folding rotor that allows it to ride on roads and then fly once the rotors expand.
IDG Capital, 5Y Capital, and Xpeng were HTAero’s leading investors in its Series A financing, and the company raised $ 500 million last week. Five other investors also participated: Sequoia Capital, Eastern Bell Capital, GGV Capital, GL Ventures, and Yufeng Capital.
HT Aero is a company founded by Xpeng and backed by its founder, He Xiaopeng.
A growing number of automakers and start-ups are showing interest in flying cars, also known as electric vertical take-off and landing vehicles.
