Air India Express: No Covid PCR Testing For Vaccinated Passengers For UAE-India Travel

air india express from use to india

In its travel update, Air India Express said that passengers who have received both doses of the Covid-19 vaccination in India are exempt from taking RT-PCR tests prior to departing from the UAE for India.

According to the airline’s fresh guidance for travelers from the UAE to India, the exemption is limited to those who have “completed both doses of the full vaccination schedule in India”. Those visitors who received Covid-19 vaccines in India are the ones likely to benefit from the U.A.E. travel update.

On the Air Suvidha portal (https://www.newdelhiairport.in/airsuvidha/apho-registration), passengers should also upload their Covid-19 vaccination certificate from India.

As part of the new relaxation, the seven-day quarantine requirement for passengers who land in India from abroad has been scrapped.

It is still necessary for passengers who have received the Covid-19 vaccine in the UAE, i.e., the majority of the residents in this country, to undergo a PCR 72 hours before flying from the UAE to India. According to Air Suvidha portal, all other passengers must carry a negative Covid-19 RT-PCR certificate and upload the same within 72 hours prior to departure. The test must have been performed within that time period.”

Passengers are required to upload a self-declaration form on Air Suvidha’s portal with their travel details from the last 14 days. Passengers who do not comply with the above rules will not be allowed to board, the airline added.
