There will no longer be a requirement for fully vaccinated people to test before returning to home if they are on the red list or no list
From Monday 4 October, England’s revamped Covid-19 rules will replace its traffic-light system.
As a result, there will be one red list of countries and the two previous green and amber lists will become the “rest of the world” or the “non-red list”. In addition, the testing requirements after returning from a non-red-list country will change, if a person is fully vaccinated.
From 4th October onwards, full-vaccinated travellers from non-red-list countries will not have to take a test within three days of their return.
Arrivals from red-list countries must meet the same requirements as before: You must pre-book a mandatory 11-night quarantine hotel package, which will include two PCR tests, taken on days two and eight, irrespective of whether you were vaccinated.
Holidays will also become more affordable after popular destinations such as Turkey are removed from the red list.
It is expected that further changes will be announced on Thursday.
