In order to enter Greece, fully vaccinated travelers from the United States, Australia, and Canada do not need to submit a negative Covid test.
The latest update was announced by the Greek Tourism Minister Vassilis Kikilias on Saturday via social media, Travelers from the US, Australia, and Canada are no longer required to show a negative Covid test to visit Greece, which is very important for tourism
It is now sufficient for them to show a valid vaccination certificate, which shows they have received two doses of the vaccine within nine months before they leave. If you have received a booster dose, you are not bound by the nine-month time restriction.
If the traveler is not vaccinated, or if the traveler was vaccinated over nine months ago and still has not received their booster shot, they can enter Greece by showing proof that they have recovered from the virus within 180 days. They can also show that a PCR test was negative within 72 hours of departure and/or a rapid test was negative within 24 hours of arrival in Greece.
In order to travel to Greece, every traveler must complete a mandatory travel form.
Despite a drop in daily Coronavirus infections in Greece, the country’s death rate remains high.
Covid has caused unprecedented mortality rates in Greece in recent months. By January 29, 2022, the country had 136 deaths per 1 million people, more than three times the European average.
