On Monday, Ariana Afghan Airlines resumed flights between Kabul and Dubai, reopening a heavily traveled international route that had been closed since the Western-backed government collapsed in August.
Ariana will operate daily flights, with one-way tickets costing $550, the state-run airline announced on Facebook. There was a lot of demand for tickets on the first flight, said a spokesman.
As of right now, Ariana is offering only international destinations to Dubai.
While several charter flights have been operating to Kabul, normal commercial flights have remained suspended.
