As per a directive from local authorities in the Philippines, Cebuano Overseas Filipino Workers and returning Filipinos will be permitted to enter Cebu beginning December 23, 2021, up to and including January 3, 2022.
On these flights, passengers of any other nationality are not allowed.
Cebu provincial government took this action because local bookings have flooded into hotels due to the onslaught of Typhoon Rai, which left residents without electricity and water.
Emirates Airlines urged passengers to update passport details on its website to avoid disruption of their journey.
Customers who booked their tickets directly with Emirates and wish to change their bookings should contact their local airline office. Passengers who booked through a travel agency need to contact the agency to make any changes.
Upon checking in for the flight, passengers must provide all the appropriate documents. Regulations change often, so passengers should regularly check the travel requirements for Dubai, as well as the travel requirements for your final destination, before departing.
As part of the new protocol, returning overseas Filipinos and Cebuano Overseas Filipino workers with Cebu addresses are subject to swabbing upon arrival, and need to stay at a quarantine hotel for no more than two days.
Cebuanos returning to the country are required to present the following documentation:
A valid identification card and a duly completed declaration form stating their residential address in Cebu for Cebuano Overseas Filipino workers
Booking proof at an accredited hotel in Cebu for at least two nights for Returning Overseas Filipinos
