Kelly Clarkson and ex-husband Brandon Blackstock have reached an agreement regarding their Montana ranch.
Court documents filed at the Los Angeles County Superior Court Thursday indicate that a judge approved Clarkson and Blackstock’s property agreement, which gave Blackstock a 5% stake in their Warren Peak Ranch property. Prior to this decision, Clarkson was awarded ownership of the ranch, which is valued at about $17.8 million.
“Brandon’s separate property ownership interest in the Warren Peak Ranch is 5.12%,” the documents state. “The parties agree that Brandon’s 5.12% ownership interest in the Warren Peak Ranch is $908,800.”
Also, according to the documents, Clarkson retains full ownership of the property adjoining Blackstock’s ranch.
A labor dispute over Clarkson’s management fees under Blackstock’s firm as well as a custody battle over their two children, River and Remington, have marred Clarkson and Blackstock’s divorce. The children’s primary custody was awarded to Clarkson in November 2020.
Using the couple’s prenuptial agreement as evidence, the court rejected Blackstock’s earlier claim that the ranch, along with two other properties owned by Clarkson in the state, are marital property.
“The court therefore rejects (Blackstock’s) position that the Montana ranch and other Montana properties are marital property owned 50/50 by the parties,” the documents stated.
