Erik Ten Hag will be Manchester United’s new manager from the end of this season, the club announced on Thursday.
It was announced on the official Manchester United website on Thursday, April 21st, 2022. Ten Hag signed a contract that keeps him at the club until the summer of 2025, with a possibility of extending until 2026.
John Murtough, Manchester United’s director of football, explains that Manchester United’s decision to hire the Dutchman was due to his achievements with Ajax.
Ajax coach Erik Ten Hag has established himself as one of the most exciting and successful coaches in Europe, renowned for the attractive, attacking football played by his team and his commitment to young players. Prior to this appointment, Erik impressed us with his long-term vision for returning Manchester United to the level at which it wants to compete, as well as with his drive and determination to achieve it. I wish Erik the best of luck as he approaches the end of the season at Ajax and look forward to working with him at Manchester United this summer.
With Ten Hag in place, Manchester United’s fans will hope the club can return to the success it enjoyed under Sir Alex Ferguson.
