Robinhood Opens Cryptocurrency Wallet To Beta Users

Robinhood announced its plans to add a cryptocurrency wallet to its app back in September. Initially, the company announced it would open the beta to a limited number of people ahead of a full launch. The wallet is now available to those who joined the waiting list Robinhood created – provided they were among the first 1,000 people to sign up.

The company said in a blog post it published today that it will invite 10,000 people to the beta by March, and more will follow later. You can also move your cryptocurrencies out of the app to another external wallet through the company’s wallet. A participant in the beta program must enable two-factor authentication in order to participate in the trial period, which limits withdrawals to $2,999 per day, as well as 10 transactions per day. Bitcoin, Ethereum and Dogecoin are now supported by the wallet with today’s rollout.

In addition to improving its wallet, Robinhood says it will add “delightful” QR scanning technology and an improved transaction history interface. During the initial announcement of its wallet beta, Robinhood told that it would make the feature available to everyone in 2022.
